Meg

£525.00

Our original best seller, the Meg bag. Cut from beautiful and perfectly aged repurposed saddle leather, entirely hand stitched using traditional saddle stitch and finished in our Somerset studio. The straps are taken from old harness and bridle leather and the solid brass hardware is sourced from a British foundry.

A choice of three buckles, Crown, Swage or Wire to fasten the bag. Front straps may be quite stiff to begin with but soften quickly with use. These bags just get better and better. Designed and made to last and taken on all your adventures.

There is one main internal compartment, with a card holder pocket on the front piece and large back pocket on the back piece.

Please choose your buckle style below and add your bespoke shoulder strap measurement at checkout.

Black Leather Bags

We rarely find vintage black saddles which means there can be a long wait to have a black bag made. If you have your heart set on a black bag or case, we can make one for you using the fantastic oak bark tanned hide from Baker’s tannery in Colyton. This is the last oak bark tannery in the country, preserving an ancient tradition and producing a quality leather that is second to none. We use Baker’s ‘Bridle Butts’ which are exactly the same weight and thickness as the saddlery leather and will age beautifully. The straps will still be repurposed leather. Please get in touch if this works for you. The price is the same. The images below are of two Meg bags made using Baker’s black hide.
